Complete Your Gutter System
Downspouts & Drainage Installation in Omaha & Metro
Gutters collect water off your roof, but downspouts direct it safely away from your home. Improperly sized or installed downspouts can leave water pooling near your foundation, leading to costly water damage and settling issues.

Why Choose Monarch Siding Company
Why Our Siding Company Is Omaha Metro’s Downspout Choice
Downspout diameter and pitch are calculated for your roof area. Too small and water overflows; too steep and debris clogs the outlet. We calculate the right size using your roof’s square footage and slope, not a generic estimate.
Downspouts that dump water next to your foundation invite settling, cracks, and interior moisture problems. We extend them or install splash blocks to move water 4–6 feet away, protecting your foundation’s long-term stability.
Metal downspouts stand up to Omaha winters and hail. We secure elbows, adapters, and straps with stainless-steel fasteners that won’t back out. Proper spacing and pitch prevent sagging and separation over time.
Your downspouts must match your existing gutter system — both in material (aluminum, galvanized steel, copper) and in how they connect. Mismatches between materials lead to leaks, corrosion, and premature failure.
Since 1996, Monarch has paired gutters with downspout systems that protect Omaha Metro homes and businesses. Every downspout installation includes our 3-year labor warranty plus the manufacturer’s material warranty.

Our Downspout Installation Process
How We Install Your Downspout System
-
Roof & Drainage Assessment
We begin with a thorough inspection of your roof’s square footage and slope, your existing gutters, the grading around your foundation, and any current drainage problems (pooling water, foundation seepage, water marks). This data tells us the right downspout diameter, quantity, and routing. We sketch out the system and walk you through it.
-
Material Selection & Custom Sizing
Downspouts come in aluminum, galvanized steel, and copper — each offering different durability, weather resistance, and aesthetic options for your home. We match your existing gutters and roof profile to ensure visual and functional consistency. Diameter ranges from 2×3 inches for smaller roofs to 3×4 inches or larger for high-volume drainage areas. We verify all connections — adapters, elbows, straps, outlet extensions, splash blocks, and grading slopes — and confirm your approval before we order materials.
-
Professional Installation & Secure Mounting
Our Windows, Siding & Roofing Experts crew removes any existing downspouts, thoroughly cleans the gutter outlets, and installs new ones with precise pitch (typically 1 inch drop per 8 feet of run to ensure water flows downward and outward). We secure every joint with stainless-steel fasteners that won’t back out over time, space support brackets 4–6 feet apart to prevent sagging, and angle every elbow and outlet to move water safely away from your foundation and grading.
-
Grade Flow & Extension Setup
Water can’t just drop straight down — it needs to flow away from your home and disperse before it settles near your foundation. We install downspout extensions, re-slope the ground away from your home, or add splash blocks to carry water at least 4–6 feet from the foundation perimeter. On properties with existing drainage issues or complex grading, we may bury extensions in perforated PVC or corrugated pipe and route them to daylight or a surface swale. The goal: dry basement, stable foundation, and zero water infiltration.
-
Inspection, Testing & Handoff
Once installation is complete, we run water through the system (or wait for rain) to confirm proper drainage, no leaks at joints, and no pooling near your foundation. We show you how to inspect and maintain the downspouts — clearing debris, checking for sag, and watching for corrosion. You get a warranty summary and a record of the work.

Downspout Installation FAQs
Downspout diameter depends on your roof’s square footage and pitch. A typical 1,500 sq. ft. roof needs 2×3-inch downspouts; larger or steep roofs may need 3×4 inches. We calculate the right size based on your roof’s actual footprint, not a guess.
Water should drain at least 4–6 feet away from your foundation. We install extensions, slope the ground, or bury downspouts in perforated extensions to achieve this. Foundation settling and water intrusion often stem from downspouts that dump water too close to the house.
Old downspouts often don’t match new gutter materials or sizing. If they’re corroded, sagging, or undersized for your roof, we recommend replacing them. Mixing old and new hardware leads to leaks, different expansion rates, and premature failure.
Aluminum is lightweight, affordable, and rust-resistant — the most common choice. Galvanized steel is heavier and stronger but can rust if the coating is damaged. Copper and stainless steel are premium options for homes with high-end aesthetics. We match your existing gutter material.
Yes. Leaves, twigs, and debris collect in downspouts, especially at the outlet and at elbow joints. Spring and fall cleaning prevents overflow and water damage. Gutter guards reduce debris but don’t eliminate it entirely. We recommend annual or semi-annual cleaning depending on your trees.
Freeze-thaw cycles, wind, settling, and poor fastening cause seams to separate over time. We use sealed, fastened joints and stainless-steel screws that won’t back out. If you notice water dripping from a seam, contact us for an assessment.
Yes. If your grade slopes toward your house or you want a cleaner look, we can bury downspout extensions in perforated PVC or corrugated pipe and route them to daylight or a swale. This requires proper slope (at least 1%) to prevent water pooling underground.
Pricing depends on the number of downspouts, materials, length of extensions, and any grading or burial work required. We provide a free, upfront estimate after inspecting your roof and drainage plan. Schedule your assessment today.
Yes. We partner with Pure to offer a 12-month no-interest payment plan, applied for online. Learn more on our Financing page.
Every downspout installation includes our 3-year labor warranty plus the manufacturer’s material warranty. If a downspout fails due to installation defect within 3 years, we make it right at no cost to you.
