Why Choose Us for Custom Window Design
Why Omaha Metro Homeowners Trust Our Window Company for Custom Design
We don’t just sell windows; we design them into your home. Our process begins with a conversation about your priorities—views, light, energy efficiency, architectural style—and translates those priorities into a custom layout that works.
Every window opening is measured carefully, and we account for the home’s existing framing, trim, and architectural features. This precision prevents costly field adjustments and ensures a seamless finished installation.
We work with trusted manufacturers like Pella, MI Sunrise, and Heartland to deliver windows in virtually any configuration. From historic double-hung styles to contemporary picture windows and specialty shapes, we source the right product for your home’s needs.
Our experience designing and installing windows means we’ve solved real problems—old homes with uneven walls, new construction with custom sightlines, climate considerations for the region. That depth translates to smarter design choices for your project.
We walk you through every design decision, show you options, explain the tradeoffs, and deliver a clear installation plan before we break ground. Our 3-year labor warranty stands behind the work we design and install.
Our reputation is built on honest work and customer satisfaction. We’re 4-Time BBB Integrity Award winners and 6-Time People’s Choice Award winners—recognition of our commitment to doing right by our customers.

Our Process
Our Custom Window Design & Installation Process
-
Initial Consultation
We start with a conversation. You’ll tell us about your home, your vision for the windows, and what matters most—whether that’s maximizing views, improving energy efficiency, solving a problem area, or matching your home’s architectural style. We ask detailed questions and take notes so we fully understand your goals before we even walk through the door. This isn’t a high-pressure sales call—it’s our chance to listen and learn what will make your home better.
- Discuss your home’s age, style, and condition (ranch, colonial, mid-century, contemporary, etc.)
- Understand your priorities: views, light, energy efficiency, aesthetics, or solving specific problem areas
- Review any existing windows that need replacement or upgrade, and identify their current performance issues
- Talk through budget and timeline expectations, and the scope of your project
- Explain our design and installation process, and answer any questions about our approach
- Discuss any special considerations (historic preservation, unusual openings, climate concerns)
-
On-Site Measurement & Assessment
One of our Windows, Siding & Roofing Experts visits your home to measure every window opening and assess existing conditions. We look at wall depth, framing, trim, exterior cladding, and any structural details that affect the design. We also photograph the spaces and take notes on sight lines, natural light patterns, and any obstacles or special features. This visit is where design reality meets vision—we gather all the information needed to deliver a proposal that actually works in your home.
- Measure every opening with precision (using professional tools that account for settlement or uneven walls)
- Assess wall depth, framing, and existing trim to understand installation clearances
- Evaluate exterior conditions, cladding type, and any water management or drainage concerns
- Note architectural features that inform design (trim style, historical details, proportions, materials)
- Identify any problem areas (difficult angles, unusual sizes, poor drainage, structural challenges)
- Document views, light patterns, and functional needs for each room (what should be private, what should open up)
- Take photographs of the home’s exterior, interior spaces, and any tricky conditions we need to solve
-
Design Proposal & Options
We return with a detailed design plan. For each window, we propose size, configuration, style, and glass options—grounded in your home’s architecture, your functional needs, and your budget. We present options so you can see choices side by side and make informed decisions. Our proposal includes product selections, layout drawings, and a clear installation approach. This is your chance to visualize the finished result and refine the design before we commit to ordering.
- Present options tailored to your home’s style and your priorities (multiple configurations to choose from)
- Explain the tradeoffs between product choices (style, energy efficiency, maintenance, cost, durability)
- Show how proposed windows integrate with trim, cladding, and architectural details through drawings and comparisons
- Address any challenging openings with creative solutions (specialty shapes, difficult angles, unusual sizes)
- Provide a detailed quote with product and labor costs broken down clearly, so you understand where your money goes
- Walk through the installation timeline, logistics, and any temporary disruption to expect
- Answer questions and explore adjustments until the design feels right for your home and budget
-
Final Approval & Ordering
Once you’ve approved the design, we place the order with our trusted manufacturers. Custom configurations can take time, so we coordinate the timeline with you and keep you informed of the order status. We prepare your home for installation by scheduling a date that works for your family and confirming any access needs. We also give you a clear picture of what to expect on installation day so there are no surprises.
- Finalize product selections and configurations based on your approved design
- Place order with manufacturers (Pella, MI Sunrise, or Heartland) and track delivery status
- Schedule installation at a convenient time for you, accounting for your preferences and our crew availability
- Brief you on installation day logistics—arrival time, duration, parking, and any precautions for your home
- Confirm any final questions or changes before work begins, ensuring everyone is on the same page
- Provide you with a pre-installation checklist so you’re prepared for the work ahead
-
Installation & Finish
Our installation crew arrives ready to execute the design we planned together. We remove old windows carefully (protecting your home from dust and disruption), install new windows to our standard (level, plumb, sealed, flashed correctly), and finish with trim and caulk that matches your home’s existing details. We walk you through the finished work and explain maintenance, warranty coverage, and how to operate any new hardware or options. When we leave, your home should feel complete—not like construction happened.
- Remove old windows carefully and properly dispose of materials
- Install new windows level, plumb, and sealed tight against air and water infiltration

Custom Window Design Frequently Asked Questions
From your initial consultation to finished installation, timelines vary based on the complexity of your design and the lead time for custom products. Standard configurations ship faster; specialty sizes or unusual shapes may take longer. We’ll give you a realistic timeline during your consultation.
We work with Pella, MI Sunrise, and Heartland to source virtually any window style and configuration—single-hung, double-hung, sliders, casements, picture windows, bay and bow windows, and specialty shapes like arches, octagons, or custom-sized openings. If you can describe what your home needs, we can find or design the right product.
Yes. Historic homes often need special attention—maintaining architectural authenticity, working around unusual framing, or solving old-home challenges like uneven walls. Our team has experience with period-appropriate window styles and materials, and we’ll help you balance preservation with modern performance.
Absolutely. Some windows are tricky—sloped ceilings, odd angles, very large openings, or tight spaces where standard products don’t fit cleanly. That’s where custom design shines. We can work around those constraints and often find elegant solutions that standard sizing can’t offer.
That’s completely normal. During your consultation, our team will ask questions about your home’s style, your daily needs, and what you’d like to improve. We’ll show you options, explain the tradeoffs, and help you arrive at a design that makes sense for your home. Our expertise is partly about helping homeowners clarify what they actually want.
Yes. All our trusted brands offer energy-efficient glass packages, low-emissivity coatings, and frame materials designed for our climate. During the design consultation, we’ll discuss energy options, explain how they affect comfort and utility costs, and help you prioritize based on your budget and priorities.
Our crew’s installation timeline depends on the number and complexity of windows. We’ll arrive with all materials and tools, remove old windows, install new ones (carefully, with proper sealing and flashing), and finish trim and caulk. You should plan for some disruption, but we’ll work efficiently to minimize it.
New windows are low-maintenance, but we’ll walk you through best practices—occasional cleaning, checking caulk around the perimeter, and inspecting weatherstripping. We’ll provide maintenance guidance for your specific products, and our 3-year labor warranty covers any installation-related issues that come up.
Yes. We partner with Pure to offer a 12-month no-interest payment plan, available online. It’s an easy way to bring your window upgrade into reach without a large upfront cost. We’ll explain financing options during your consultation.
Every installation is backed by our 3-year labor warranty. In addition, the windows themselves carry the manufacturer’s warranty—details vary by product and brand, but typically cover glass and frame defects. We’ll provide you with full warranty documentation after installation.
